Rachel Austin is a Portland artist I met several years ago at a local DIY show. She’s fan of DIY – replacing windows in her basement studio, making frames for her work…when I was just getting started print my own card line, she was the one who told me I could do it myself. I didn’t need to spend a lot of money up from to keep an inventory.
Rachel’s work has been used on sets of Portlandia, Grimm, & Parenthood. She’s been featured in Sunset Magazine’s Holiday Gift Guide. She’s my go to gal when it comes to how things work in the art world. She’s knows what she’s talking about.
She’s also kind and generous, funny and just fun to be around. 🙂 We spent a quick hour last week documenting a bit of her process.
