Every year, around the Christmas break, I photograph my own family. This presents its own unique challenges. It’s impossible to be sure you got a photo of everyone looking into the camera at least once when you’re on the receiving end of the picture. My own kids are about 3000% more difficult to photograph in a group than anyone else I’ve encountered yet. I don’t have to work to make them comfortable in front of the camera. I have to work to make sure they remember there’s a camera there. And yet…I’m not sure I’d have it any other way.
